Band Caregivers
Band Caregivers are parent volunteers who dispense medicines and administer aid to any sick or injured students during rehearsals and competition trips. Band Caregivers verify a student’s medical profile in Operoo before dispensing ANY medicine or giving aid. All band caregivers and medical chaperones must pass the CCS background check. To complete the background check, click here Background Check and select Volunteer @ CCS.
Rehearsal Band Caregivers
Parent volunteers are on hand at each Marching Band practice in order to dispense over-the-counter medicines and offer aid to any sick or injured students. Caregivers do not dispense prescription medications during rehearsals. Medical training is not necessary. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up at the Volunteer Fair or email Head Caregiver.
Medical Chaperone
A parent volunteer, who is a trained medical professional (RN, NP, PA, MD, DO, Paramedic), travels with the band to all competitions. The Medical Chaperone dispenses over-the-counter and prescription medicines and administers aid to any sick or injured students. Unlike Bus Chaperones, the Medical Chaperone stays with the band up to and immediately after their performance and stands on the sidelines while they perform. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up at the Volunteer Fair or email Medical Chaperone.
Donation Request
On occasion the Caregivers will ask for medical supplies. Watch the weekly announcements for donation requests.
